We know how quickly kids can go through shoes. So with these "haritsuke" jikatabi the soles are glued but not stitched in place. So they're sturdy enough to last a year or more but give better cost performance.
NOTE: Rikio has effectively discontinued this model and it has been replaced by the Rikio Kids Tabi Kintaro model.

Cushion jikatabi for kids!
With added cushioning in the insole plus an EVA shock absorbing pad in the heel for greater comfort, these jikatabi are popularly worn at traditional street festivals in Japan. They are exactly the same as the full-size ones, except they use velcro fasteners instead of the more fiddly tabs (kohaze). This makes them much more kid friendly. The Haritsuke refers to the glued rather than stitched sole. Available in black or white and in two heights depending on the size. We use the number of tabs below just to give an indication of the boot height.
