Looked around here, and much to my surprise, there is no thread on Nori-P!!
The scene on TV yesterday was amazing.  All those flashes.  Funniest thing about this, for me:
0.008gms = the weight of 3 average snowflakes, or 5 mosquitoes, or 1 grain of sand (this is the only use I've had for the much lauded Wolfram/Alpha site).
Anywhere else in the world this wouldn't have gotten a fraction of the press it has here.  Amazing!
Now...watch for the rise of the posh alcohol & drug rehab clinic in Japan.  Nori-P (her handlers?) have set the precedent for future apologies in Japan with this trick.
One other thing:  her hubby being released with the baseball cap "PUNK" = CLASSIC!!

There is a thread on here on the story from the time of her disappearance/arrest.

The latest developments can be found in the Entertainment News section. I haven't had time to cross-reference them as much as I should.

I'm sure a lot of the media coverage was due to the fact that she was thought of as such a 'wholesome" actress and portrayed a lot of "good girl" characters in such J-Doramas like "Seija no Koushin" 聖者の行進 and "Hitotsu Yane No Shita" ひとつ屋根の下.

I was a big fan of のりピー since her debut in the 80s so her drug arrest really was a shock as I'm sure it was to others.

While her public image is pretty much shattered and her future career uncertain, it has sparked a renewed interest in her past idol songs and J-Doramas.  I've read that her songs, especially her signature song "Aoi Usagi" 碧いうさぎ have become popular again.

I hope she does somehow make it back again.  What's up with all the 80s idols in the news lately?  Sachiko Suzuki (鈴木早智子) 1/2 of the 80's duo Wink was recently caught in a four-year affair with a married actor and then there was the drug bust of one of the lesser members of Hikaru Genji a couple of months back.

Maybe the Japanese realize that scandal can revive careers and its all strategic!
