Yas that is not as far fetched as you may think.  I saw a program recently on I think it was NHK, the public bradcast station here in Japan, about a dentist in mainland somewhere that has developed a paste of some sort that is directly placed on to a cavity.  After that the paste is covered with a water proof sealant and "bravo" after a few days to a week the germs that caused the cavity in the first place are gone.  It's evidently a 1 time only procedure and the cavity is gone.  
 
I dont remember all the details but this dentist was interviewed and said that the actual cost of the paste that he invented and the procedure is something along the lines of  20 to 50 yen per tooth that has a cavity.  No drilling nothing.  He said he makes almost nothing for the procedure and had doubts that dentists throughout Japan would accept it because it would be the end of their business.  
 
Also according to the doctor he gets patients from all over Japan and is booked for months in advance.  
 
I hope there is someone else here that saw the story and can fill in some of the "blanks".  

my invention for the future would have to be 'time stoping watch.
 
just think of what thing's you could do (ex-cluding bad bad things) like oh i can't think of any good one's except if your late for work wich i always am you could use it to arrive on time stopping time (obviously t's a time stopping watch, sometimes i can be so stupid(sigh.....)).
